Generate Work Orders
There are two general ways to generate work orders; manually and automatically.
Manually:
In the Service Requests, Quick Reporting, and Work Order Tracking applications you can insert a Work Order record by clicking the New Work Order/Service Request icon on the toolbar. (The icon that looks like a piece of paper with a # sign on it.)
After creating the new record you can go to Create in the Select Action menu and choose to directly create a Work Order, Service Request, Incident, Problem, Change, Release, or Communication from the record you are currently working with.
In the Preventative Maintenance or Condition Monitoring applications you can select the Generate Work Order from the Select Action menu.
Automatically:
Automatic generation is based off of the Preventative Maintenance frequency data in the Preventative Maintenance application or from the upper and lower action limits being reached in the Condition Monitoring application.
To setup automatic generation for Time Based Frequency PMs: You need to activate and define the PM Cron Task in the Cron Task Setup application in the Configuration module
Go to the Cron Task Setup application in the Configuration module
Search for PMWoGenCronTask in the List tab of the Cron Task Setup application
Click New Row under Cron Task Instances
Create your Cron Task Instance Name and define the schedule by clicking on the calender next to the field
Check the Active? box
Click the Save icon
Now open up the Organizations application under the Administration module
Search for and choose the organization you want PM's to automatically be generated
Go to the Select Action Menu and choose PM Options
Choose the Site
Check the Automatic PM WO generation? box
Define what PM's should be automatically ran in the WO Generation Where Clause box
- example: 1=1 will generate all due PM's for that site
Add ONE email address in the E-mail Address Notification box
- if you need the email to go to a group of people put in a group email address into the box
Click OK then SAVE
To setup automatic generation for Meter Based Frequency PMs:
Before setting up automatic generation for meter based PMs, make sure that the PMs you want to run off of meter readings have the Generate WO When Meter Frequency is Reached? box checked on them
Go to the Cron Task Setup application in the Configuration module
Search for MeasurePointWoGenCronTask
Click New Row under Cron Task Instances
Create your Cron Task Instance Name and define the schedule by clicking on the calender next to the field
Check the Active? box
Click the Save icon
Now open up the Organizations application under the Administration module
Search for and choose the organization you want PM's to automatically be generated
Go to the Select Action Menu and choose PM Options
Choose the Site
Under Stand-Alone Condition Monitoring Work Order Generation Process Settings check the Automatic Measure Point WO Generation box
Add ONE email address in the E-mail Address Notification box
- if you need the email to go to a group of people put in a group email address into the box
Click OK
